Danielle Susi is author of the poetry chapbook The Month in Which We Are Born (Dancing Girl Press, 2015). She has studied and performed improvisational comedy at iO Chicago, The Second City and many other locations. Additionally, she is an award-winning journalist, having received an Excellence in Political Journalism Award from The Washington Center and a shared National Mark of Excellence Award from the Society of Professional Journalists.
Danielle holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and creative writing from Quinnipiac University, and received her Master of Fine Arts in Writing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she was awarded the New Artists Society Fellowship. She earned her PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah, and her research focuses on disability in higher education, often in the context of community colleges.
